The Car Park at Penrose B&B

Well, it's about time we showed you what to expect when you bring your car. We are extremely lucky to be able to accommodate 7 guest cars as well as our own, as parking in Cornwall is like parking in London! However, we do have to double park, as you will see.

First, from the main road you need to locate Scrations Lane
(The Terrace is not on most maps as it is only 4 houses).

Above is the view as you come up the hill (A390) from the centre of the town.

This is the view as you come down the hill (A390) from St Austell. When you see the big brown sign, slow down and get down to 1st gear as you turn in, so if a car is coming down to the entrance of the lane, you have time to stop.

This is the view of Scrations Lane. It is the width of a very wide lorry.
Do be aware that behind every hedge there is a wall!

As you enter Scrations Lane you can see our entrance,
first on the right, just a short way up the hill.

You will see that you go up a slope onto our car park at the back of the house.

We advise that you drive straight in and DON'T back in, as it is much, much easier to back out into the lane, than get stuck on the slope going out on 3 wheels trying to back up the slope on 3 wheels as you are too close to the wall. Been there, done that, and felt a complete idiot!
But if you insist, we will just watch and giggle.

Welcome to Penrose!
This is the back of the house and once off the little slope the car park is on the level.

And this is with 6 guest cars and our own.

We are around most of the time and come out to help get you parked,
as it is important to make sure all of you have a place.

Let us know if you are using the car at night, or you are looking to leave early in the morning.

If you are blocking another car, we will ask if you can leave your keys in your room or with us.

Here is a view from the outside stair case from the 1st floor.

If you don't like parking, we can do it for you - we have parked our espace in every parking position over the past 7+ years so we know what angles you need to take.

Again, driving straight in and not backing in makes your life easier. As you will see below, backing out onto the lane (very slowly so cars coming down can see you) means that you are positioned nicely to go forward down the lane.

Well that is it. Nothing to be scared of, just take it slowly, and if in doubt, wait for us to appear
(we have a camera so we are normally out with you quite quickly).
