Chris & Heidi

Thought you would like to know a little more about us. We are Chris & Heidi and we own and run Penrose B&B, a 7 bedroom  bed and breakfast. Penrose is also our home, and a beautiful Victorian end terrace house. We have seven ensuite rooms over 3 floors, and they are a mix of double/twin/family bedrooms.

In 2004 we decided that living in a big city (Bristol) was not much fun so we started looking for a house that we would love living in, but was big enough to run a B&B to pay the mortgage. We already knew 'The Terrace' in Lostwithiel as Chris' Dad lived in the town, but when we first went in to have a look round we fell in love straight away.

You come in via the kitchen (after parking at the back of the house) and then walk through to the hallway, which has a fantastic minton tiled floor that leads up to the stained glass front door. This gives you a hint that there are more original features in the rest of the house which there are many!

Two bedrooms are on the first floor, four are on the second floor and one on the top floor  in the eaves. We have tried to keep the decoration as traditional as possible, the house seems to like this best.

Since the house was built in the 1890's it has been a family house, and the feel you get as you walk in is very homely and relaxing.

Well I think this is a good start and we will let you know more in other blogs.

New Year

New Year in Lostwithiel was a quiet affair. The pubs had fancy dress, the church bells went crazy at midnight, a drumming band was going up and down the main street and there a fabulous firework display from the golf club.

Now we are looking forward to doing some decorating in the bedrooms and looking forward to spring, when the gardens start to bloom and brighten up the whole county.
